I watched this movie because I'm a huge Moebius fan. It is probably the only reason to watch this movie, unfortunately. It's too bad because like the comics books drawn by Moebius, there are here some fascinating ideas but the story is not great and, above all, the animation is very average especially compared to the top movies produced by Pixar and Dreamworks. So, it could have been something but the end result is just rather average

An adolescent adventurer gets caught up in a war between good and evil after crossing through a space-time portal created by his physicist father, and arriving on a planet inhabited by towering extraterrestrials. Eight years ago, {%Simon Weir} perfected the ability to explore distant planets without the need for space travel. Soon thereafter, he vanished without a trace. Years later, {%Simon}'s son, {%Jac}, still refuses to believe that his father is dead. Upon discovering his father's stargate, {%Jac} is transported 27.2 million light years away to Planet Raphicca, where {%Simon} is being held prisoner by a race of noble aliens preparing to battle a powerful enemy. Glen Chaika's animated attempt, ‘Thru the Moebius Strip' is a sci-fi adventure that tells the story of a 14-year old young boy and his travel to an alien world. Jonathan Taylor Thomas has lent his voice to the character Prince Ragis, and Michelle Ruff voiced Young Jac. Jac was small when his father went away and he grew up without him, but never once accepting his loss. When he decides to finally find his father, his search lands him to Planet Raphicca, which is 27.2 million light years away. He discovers on reaching the planet that his father is a prisoner in a kingdom of giant aliens. These aliens believe in magic and an age-old practice of chivalry.

 What follows is a raging battle between good and evil. The battle that Jac puts himself in, does result in him bringing his father home, but it also brings to him his new found of family members that comprises of aliens. He also rescues the planet of Raphicca, and ultimately, the universe. Chris Marquette has voiced the grown-up Jac Weir, whom we see in the battle. Kelvin Lee, who is the animation director of this film, has created a wonderful movie that will entertain kids and adults alike. The stunning visual effects and combat scenes provide the film with a look, which is astounding and pleasing to the visual sense organ. See the film in video formats like DVD that will make it a must watch and if you have an iPod, you can take the movie along with you, wherever you go. Also, watching it in HD makes the whole experience memorable.
